Estate Planning Term of the Week - UAD

This week's estate planning term comes up frequently when I'm helping clients fund their Revocable Living Trusts - UAD.

In the estate planning context UAD is simply an abbreviation for the phrase "Under Agreement Dated." For example, when titling an account in the name of a Revocable Living Trust, a bank or investment company may abbreviate the name of the trust as follows:

"Jane Doe Revocable Living Trust UAD January 1, 2010."
