You remember the rock group Queen and its frontman Freddie Mercury, don't you? Or if not, then at least you've heard the song "We Are the Champions" or "We Will Rock You" - that's Freddie Mercury singing his heart out. Well apparently sometime before his death in November 1991, Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson became friends and recorded a couple of duets that were never released to the public.
According to Brian May, guitarist and songwriter for Queen, "Michael [Jackson] used to come and see us when we were on tour in the States. He and Freddie [Mercury] became close friends, close enough to record a couple of tracks together at Michael's house, tracks which have never seen the light of day." May also confirmed that the band has been in contact with Michael Jackson's estate and has received permission to release the songs: "The Michael Jackson estate are happy for us to go ahead with the music. But it's not something that we can rush."
Listen up for the songs to be released some time in 2012, which will surely put Eighties glam rock back into the public's ears.
