The remains of actor Sherman Hemsley, who portrayed Manhattan dry cleaning mogul George Jefferson on CBS' The Jeffersons and died from lung cancer back on July 24, have finally been laid to rest. While at one point three different people were staking claim to the actor's estate, in the end an El Paso County, Texas probate judge ruled that a document signed by Hemsley a few weeks before he died was the actor's valid last will and testament. The will left Hemsley's entire estate to his friend, Flora Isela Enchinton Bernal, who arranged to have the Air Force veteran buried at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso. The funeral took place on November 21 despite the vow of Hemsley's half brother, Philadelphia resident Richard Thornton, to prevent his family member from being buried in Texas.
